The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) invites you to a Business and Residents Coordination Meeting which will be run by Lunda Construction Co. (Project Contractor) on Thursday, May 24, 2018 to discuss the County Highway PB Sugar River Bridge Replacement located in Paoli.  The meeting will be held at the Montrose Town Hall, 1341 Diane Ave., Belleville from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  Please contact, Nicholas Hoernke at 608-442-1282 or HoernkeN@AyresAssociates.com with any questions.  Written questions can be directed to Brad Schultz at WisDOT’s SW Region office, 2101 Wright Street, Madison WI 53704.

 

 

 


VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail or in person.

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

2018 Master Agriculturist in the Town of Montrose

Tom Sarbacker was nominated and won 2018 Master Agriculturist.  A Master Agriculturist program is one of the longest running career-achievement honors programs in American agriculture, dating back 88 years to 1930 when the Wisconsin Agriculturist started honoring top farmers for their hard work, dedication, success in farming and exemplary leadership.  The winners were selected for their proven ability and accomplishments as progressive farmers, and also for the time, effort and leadership they contribute to community, church and agricultural organizations.

Informational Broadband Meeting

On Wednesday, December 6th starting at 6:30 PM, Dane County
Board Supervisor Bob Salov is hosting an informational meeting on $751 million
in new federal money going to TDS Telecommunications to boost rural broadband
expansion.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Village of Cambridge
Amundson Community Center at 200 Spring St. in Cambridge (bottom floor meeting
room).


Department of Natural Resources

The Department of Natural Resources is underway on a study, known as the Recreation Opportunities Analysis, looking at existing outdoor-based recreation opportunities and future recreation needs in each region of the state. The
study will identify future opportunities for providing high-quality recreation experiences and the potential role of department properties in helping to meet those needs. More details can be found on the

County PB Bridge Project

Dane County Highway Department is proposing to replace the County PB (Paoli Road) bridge in downtown Paoli over the Sugar River.  Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2018 (June through October).


Four Year Maintenance Post Cards to be mailed

Wisconsin Elections Commission will be mailing out Notice of Suspension of Registration postcards June 12th – June 16th.  These are mailed to voters who have not voted in any election in the previous four years.  Voters have until July 15th to respond to the postcard.  If you have any questions, please contact your local municipality or go to elections.wi.gov
