STH 69 Construction Project Update 7/13/23

Work in the reconstruction continues (Richard Street to Paoli):

  • Grading operations
  • Roadway aggregates
  • Salvaged topsoil, landscaping
  • Concrete curb and gutter is anticipated in late July/early August
  • Asphalt paving anticipated to begin in mid-August
  • The construction zone is filled with materials, equipment and contractors working and moving in multiple directions throughout the stretch of roadway. The travel way may be narrow, bumpy, dusty or muddy.
  • Anticipated completion is early October

REMINDER HWY 69 is closed to thru traffic.  Access is allowed only for HWY 69 residents and businesses who have an origin or destination on the project. Travel through the construction zone is not permitted except for school busses and emergency personnel. If your destination is within the construction zone, it is recommended to use your closest access to STH 69 to get to a driveway. Large trucks need to use appropriate truck routes. Please slow down, obey any flagging operations, and stop for all construction equipment, as they have the right-of-way.

A signed detour route is posted and follows WIS 92, WIS 78 and US 18/151.

  • Work is completed, and the road is opened!

Work in the reconstruction (Richard Street to Paoli):

  • Grading operations continue as the contractors build the new roadway core and side roads
  • Roadway aggregates
  • Salvaged topsoil, landscaping
  • The construction zone is filled with materials, equipment and contractors working and moving in multiple directions throughout the stretch of roadway. The travel way may be narrow, bumpy, dusty or muddy.
  • Anticipated completion is early October

STH 69 is closed to thru traffic.  Access is allowed for residents and businesses have an origin or destination on the project. Travel through the construction zone is for residents who live on this section of HWY 69, school busses, and emergency personnel. It is recommended to use your closest access to STH 69 to get to a driveway. The lanes are narrow as crews work on and through the existing roadbed. Large trucks need to use appropriate truck routes. Please slow down, obey any flagging operations, and stop for all construction equipment, as they have the right-of-way.

WI 69 Recon Project Update

Work in Belleville (County D to Richard Street):

  • Water main work is completed
  • New concrete curb ramps and sidewalks were constructed at the intersections.
  • New Rapid Flashing Beacon for crosswalk at Karl Avenue
  • Topsoil and landscaping work
  • Milling of the pavement from CTH D to Richard Street will begin after Memorial Day
  • Asphalt Paving, pavement marking and permanent signing will occur in June

  • Existing topsoil is being stripped off.
  • Grading operations will continue over the next several months as the contractors build the new roadway core.
  • Roadway aggregates
  • Culvert pipe installation
  • Box Culvert Installation
  • The construction zone is filled with materials, equipment and contractors working and moving in multiple directions throughout the stretch of roadway. The travel way may be narrow, bumpy, dusty or muddy.

    • During this work, STH 69 will be down to 1-lane under flagging conditions.
    • Periodic water shut offs may occur, and Village staff will provide notification.

WI 69 Recon Project Update

The cold, snowy weather is making construction a little more difficult.  Despite the weather, crews are making progress.

Work in Belleville (County D to Richard Street):

  • Water main construction continues. There are 2 crews installing water main.
    • During this work, STH 69 will be down to 1-lane under flagging conditions.
    • Periodic water shut offs may occur, and Village staff will provide notification.
    • Curb and curb ramp construction to start.

 

Work in the reconstruction (Richard Street to Paoli):

  • Clearing and grubbing is completed.
  • Milling of the existing asphalt pavement has begun and will continue over the next week.
  • Existing topsoil will be stripped off to begin grading for the new roadway.
  • Grading operations are anticipated to begin and will continue over the next several months as the contractors build the new roadway core.
  • Utility work continues along the route.

STH 69 Construction Project Update 10/27/22

The STH 69 construction project from Paoli to Verona is scheduled to open on Monday October 31st.

In preparation for 2023 work (Belleville to Paoli):

  • Utility crews will be working through this fall and winter.
  • Road Construction Work is anticipated to begin in early March 2023.

STH 69 Construction Project Update 10/14/22

The STH 69 construction project is nearing completion!!  Crews are still actively working to finish the project on time and safely, so a reminder that STH 69 and CTH PB are closed to thru traffic.

The following work is anticipated to finish up the project:

  • Asphalt Paving continues into next week
  • Aggregate Shoulder placement
  • Landscaping
  • Pavement Marking
  • Rumble Strips
  • Signing
  • Work between Diane Avenue and Henry Road continues in preparation for 2023
  • Utility work continues south of Paoli to Belleville into the winter

Paoli Road is permanently removed from STH 69.

STH 69 is closed to thru traffic.  Access is allowed for residents and businesses that have an origin or destination on the project. It is highly suggested to use your closest access to STH 69 to get to a driveway. Large trucks need to use appropriate truck routes.
